The demand for the raw wool comes from both the consumer’s needs and wants and the processors requirements to meet those demands.
Consumer demand moves according to fashion and season. The fibre related factors that influence the decision of the consumer to purchase are weight of the fabric or garment, drape, feel and appearance.
The processor requirements are service related with the most important being reliable supply of a consistent raw product. The top-maker must supply 365 days a year, delivering on time, and with a product that is of a high quality and repeatable performance.
